Organized Rides, Runs & Swimming

GROUP RUNS

Join the Conroe Running Club for a 7  or 14 mile run (1 or 2 loops) through Teaswood on Saturday mornings. The group meets at 6:00 A.M. at Cracker Barrel on the west side of I-45 at League Line Road in the North parking area. Hills, a couple of water stops and great work-out to start your Saturday - good stuff!

There is a run after the Wednesday night ride as well. Usually 3 miles or so.

Monday Fun Run -

The Monday Fun Run will start up again on Monday, March 15 @ the Panorama Village Club House. Join us weekly for a 3.1 mile (or 5 mile) loop through the neighborhood followed by ice cold drinks and conversation.

GROUP RIDES

Sunday morning's ride will be at 7:00 AM from the New Hope Baptist Church. It's out and back so the mileage is up to each rider. Directions: Go north on I-45 to the Shepard Hill exit between Willis and New Waverly. Traveling north on the feeder, cross I-45 on Shepard Hill Road. Turn right on the feeder and go to the 1st street on the left (Old Danville Road). Turn and follow to New Hope Baptist Church (about 1/4 mile).

Ironman training group rides on Saturdays at 9:30am from New Hope Baptist Church. These rides range from 40-100 miles.

Sunday afternoon rides are at 2:00pm from New Hope Baptist Church. These are more casual than our other training rides.

ORGANIZED SWIM

Once daylight savings comes back, we will gear up for open water swimming. It's still a little early right now, but get those wetsuits ready. There are several of us who will need the training for the CB&I Triathlon on May 1. Check back for updates on the "open water swim season opener". The swim starts at 5:30pm at the boat ramp at the end of FM 830. To get there, take I-45 north from Conroe and exit FM 830. Head west about 6 miles or so and you will run straight into the boat ramp area. The swim is supported by 2-3 kayakers so you always have a place to grab on to if you get tired or if you just need a drink; throw your water bottle in the kayak before we head out. We will have cold drinks and conversation after the swim.

The Masters Swim is at the Conroe Aquatic Center, in Candy Cane Park, on Tuesday and Thursday nights from 6:30 PM - 8:00 PM and Saturday mornings (after the run) from 7:30 AM - 9:00 AM. Coach Kim puts on a great workout.

Directions: I-45 to Hwy 105 East, take north bound feeder and turn right into Candy Cane Park. Park loops around to Aquatic Center. Cost is $6.
